Va La is a small farm in Avondale, Chester County, consisting of a hillside cellar, seven acres of vines, and one family devoted to each other and to the creation of wine. Our passion is for creating wines made from rare varieties and unusual blends, from grapes grown entirely here in the Chester County soils of our home.
We specialize in blends of Italian and French varieties made in small batch productions of 20 to 250 cases, with a total production from 1200 to 1500 cases per year.  This is done to strategically insure that we suffer as much back- breaking labor and financial hardship as possible.
The name 'Va La' is in recognition of a tiny village in Northern Italy where our family came here from, called Giusvalla. Strictly speaking, Va La translates to 'go there', but in dialect terms it has the additional meaning of "come on!" - as in what one says when they suspect that you may be pulling their leg.
Come and Taste
Enoteca Va La is a traditional little wine shop set inside our working vineyard where our visitors get a small taste of local Chester County specialties. We offer a slightly different kind of wine tasting experience. You can taste and purchase home grown wines right alongside the delicious Chester County foods they are designed to accompany including local treasures like artisan farm cheeses, mustards and spreads, locally grown and marinated mushrooms, and items from our gardens, farms, and orchards as they come in fresh from the harvest.
